OGDEN, UTAH – The Taco Maker (TTM), a leader in the Mexican quick service restaurant segment announced today a Landlord/Tenant agreement between Wal-Mart stores and TTM to begin franchising in Wal-Mart stores across the United States.

A Taco Maker Franchise employee prepares a mexican style burrito.“This milestone agreement is the perfect fit for us,” said Tomas Torres, president and CEO of The Taco Maker. “Having access to thousands of hungry customers on a daily basis gives TTM a distinct edge over its competitors. As we have in other locations, at Wal-Mart we’ll win by offering incredibly delicious food and a healthy alternative to other fast food places with fresh ingredients that are prepared every day in our restaurants.”

The Taco Maker, Inc. (TTM) is the parent company of The Taco Maker restaurant which is currently the largest Mexican quick service restaurant in Puerto Rico and is well known for its high quality and flavorful Mexican food including tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, salads and desserts. TTM’s other two brands include Jake’s Over The Top, a quick service restaurant offering a unique line of hamburgers, sandwiches, chicken tenders, fries, onion rings, and ice cream treats; and Mayan Juice, a quick service concept offering real fruit smoothies with health boosters.

TTM’s agreement with Wal-Mart includes all concepts in its corporate portfolio, including Mayan Juice, Taco Maker, and Jake’s. To date, TTM has signed lease agreements to open stores in Utah, Florida, and South Carolina. Six of these locations will open this year.

“An opportunity like this comes once in a lifetime,” said Torres. “Success in the quick service industry means you’ve made a good effort of reaching as many people as possible with your product. Taking our unique and health-delicious menu to a broader audience via America’s leading retailer brings us closer to our goal of becoming the premier Mexican quick service restaurant brand to customers nationwide.”

TTM’s flagship restaurant, The Taco Maker, offers various outlet types to meet almost every need, from traditional free-standing restaurants and mall food courts to its fast growing programs for non-traditional locations which complement the dual branding concept with the company’s other franchises, Jake’s Over the Top and Mayan Juice.

The Taco Maker, Inc. (TTM) is an international franchise system with over 185 units open in the United States, Latin America, and the Far East. For more information on TTM, visit their website at http://www.tacomaker.com.
